So Many Books, So Little Time...

Hey everyone!
So, I've taken some time for me this summer, for learning new things, lots of hockey (yes in the summer!) and other things.  I've been reading, though not as much as I normally have. I got as close as being 3 books behind schedule for my 100 books read that I challenged myself on Goodreads, and currently I am sitting at 5 books behind schedule though I do have 2 that I am almost finished!  I always have a couple of books on the go and read them depending on the mood that I am feeling.

I've been getting ready and creating things for the Christmas craft shows this fall, and we've got tables in 3 of them so that is where some of my free time has been going.  It makes me want to read cozy mysteries about knitting and crocheting!

I've got a backlog of reviews that I have to get done, and really will just need to take a day and punch them all out and get them posted properly.  My *plan* is to have most of them finished up by Friday.  Let's see how that goes, I also have to start getting some pickles made and other canning projects.  I really should make another blog for all the other things that I get involved in.... maybe someday soon :)

Hope you are all enjoying what is left of the summer!

Cozy Mystery Reading Challenge

So, along my travels of goodreads and other reading blogs, I stumbled across the Craving for Cozies Challenge 2016

 Craving For Cozies Challenge 2016

Now, cozy mysteries as many of you can tell from the books that I have been reading and reviewing lately are one of my favourite genres.  So, I think this challenge has my name written all over it!

There are different levels you can achieve when you participate and well, I've jumped in with both feet! My goal is to complete the highest level, that being reading 61+ cozy mysteries in 2016. And counting the ones that I've already read starting this month, I've got a nice start already! (I think it's fair that I count the cozies that I read already... I only just found the challenge but, I still read the cozies in 2016!)

So, click the button above if you are interested in learning more about this cozy challenge and maybe even signing up yourself! If you do, please leave me a message in the comments to let me know, I'd love to see who else is participating! I'll also be posting a button on the side of the blog so it's easy to find and to visit the challenge home page. To anyone else doing this challenge... Good luck!

Another book down, 75 to go!

So, I just finished reading "Panic Button" by author Kylie Logan. If you like cozy mysteries, this definitely falls under that category.
The main character, Josie is a button expert with a successful button business. Josie is asked to look at some buttons on a 'charm string' for Angela, who later turns up dead in the alley behind Josie's shop.
I won't go into too many other details so that I don't spoil the book for anyone. The book and story line is quite interesting, and really the only thing that I didn't like was how the murderer was revealed at the end of the story. It sort of reminded me of the ending of an episode of Scooby Doo to be honest. Putting all that aside though, Josie is a likable character who loves buttons and certainly isn't afraid to jump in to aid in solving murders since her knowledge is always the key to the mystery.

The completion of reading this book puts me at 25 for the year and 75 away from my goal of 100 books for this year. Can I do it? Darn right I can! I will be away on vacation for about a week and plan on reading lots while travelling in the car to our destination (No don't worry I won't be driving haha)

I've currently got 4 other books on the go... let's see how many I can get done by the end of the week!

Reading Challenge

So I was browsing facebook today when I came across a post from one of my favourite authors, Debbie Macomber. She posted about this really great looking reading challenge called Reading Bingo Challenge 2014. Here is a picture of the bingo card (Click the bingo card to get more information. This challenge is featured on Retreat by Random House)

This is a great challenge, and there is also a challenge for Young Adults featured on the same page. I will definitely be trying this one. Over the next few days, I will post the books that I am thinking of reading for this and some suggestions for those of you who would like to try this out.

I've been on a huge reading stint and I am up to 11 books toward my 100 books this year. I will have to get around to posting reviews of the books that I have read. So far I am 3 books ahead of schedule and I have 2 books that I am half way through and one that I am about a quarter of the way through. Are you doing any reading challenges? I would love to hear from you and what they are!
Happy Reading Friends!
